Most of the time, they do not like being called janitors. It’s just not professional sounding enough and it just sounds so lowly to be called that. I personally appreciate them at my school and take my time to call them custodians. It just gets on my nerve sometimes when people call them janitors or assume that since this person is cleaning the floors, they’re probably a janitor. There’s engineers in the school that clean too!
